In Greek mythology, Asopos is the river god associated with the homonymous river. According to tradition, he is the son of Ocean and Tethys, Poseidon and Pero, or Zeus and Eurynome. He is the husband of Metope and the father of Ismenos, Pelagon and twenty daughters including Sinope, Chalcis and the nymph Aegina as well as, in other traditions, Antiope and Plataea.
